Ghana - Kente cloth project

Project Overview A concept football kit inspired by Ghanaian culture, translating traditional Kente cloth patterns and symbolism into contemporary sportswear. Process • Researched the visual language and colour symbolism of traditional Kente textiles as the cultural foundation of the design. • Developed a custom pattern system derived from Kente motifs and adapted it for a football shirt structure. • Integrated the pattern through collar detailing, sleeve trims, and fabric graphics while maintaining a clean performance-oriented kit design. Reflection This project explored how cultural textiles and heritage symbolism can be respectfully translated into modern football apparel.
